US envoy calls on Masidi

Kota Kinabalu: Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun received a courtesy call from a delegation from the United States Embassy, led by its Economic Counselor Susan Riggs, at his office in Menara Kinabalu, here, Wednesday.


During the meeting, Masidi shared insights into Sabah’s current economic, political and social developments with the delegation as well as upcoming and future plans of the State Government.


“I am happy that Sabah maintains good working and social relations with the United States and I welcome the delegation from the US Embassy with hopes that more US-Sabah business and economic opportunities will materialise in the near future,” he said.


Other issues and topics discussed during the meeting include Sabah’s tourism industry, future developments, energy production and supply, food security, the oil and gas industry, digital communication, manufacturing and matters involving public interest.


Also present was US Embassy Economic Officer Michael Marcous, Economic Specialist Sharon Tan and Finance Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Mohd Sofian Alfian Nair.
