Ratib: So where was Kiandee?

KOTA KINABALU: Perikatan Nasional Sabah head Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee forgot that he was a Minister in the previous federal government which did not bother to solve Sabah’s water, electricity and road problems.

State Minister of Community Development and People’s Well-Being Datuk James Ratib said Kiandee’s statement that the Sabah Government failed to take appropriate action was an attempt at cheap publicity.

The Sugut Assemblyman said so many local issues in Kiandee’s Beluran parliamentary constituency remain unsolved, including road repairs, commodities and eradication of rural poverty.

“There is no need to make baseless accusations against the state government. “He should ask himself when he was part of the PN Government how often he raised these issues at the top level.

“Residents in Beluran regret his failure to deal with electricity and water disruptions there despite serving as a Member of Parliament for Beluran since 1999.

”James said the GRS State Government is not one that just sleeps and procrastinates on the problems faced by the people in Sabah.

He said electricity and water supply disruptions are always brought up in the state cabinet meeting to be resolved and the government is aware of the pain the people are suffering.

“Don’t speak loud like a gong. I invite you to be a professional thinker and put political ideology aside so that thoughtful suggestions can contribute to the solution of the issue,” he said.
