Avoid slander, Ranau MP reminds Kadazan, Dusun, Murut and Rungus folks

RANAU: The Kadazan, Dusun, Murut and Rungus (KDMR) communities are reminded to avoid slander.

Ranau MP, Datuk Jonathan Yasin, said the KDMR people should maintain their unity in line with the theme of this year’s just-ended Kaamatan Festival, “Kaamatan Cultivating Unity”.

He also invites all levels of society in Malaysia, especially the people of Sabah, to cultivate unity and harmony.

He commended the residents of Kg Kokob Baru, for successfully organising the Kaamatan Festival at the village-level.

“Kaamatan Festival also provides a space and opportunity for our families to meet and gather to celebrate after far apart,” he said.

On some of the applications submitted by the residents of Kg. Kokob, Jonathan said his party would examine the urgent need to be considered for approval as soon as the relevant details can be found by the residents.

“We want every project application submitted to be scrutinised first before the financial allocation is approved to avoid inaccuracies,” emphasized Jonathan in reference to the application for the repair of the Balai Raya building and road repair in Kg. Kokob Baru.

According to him, the application for the repair of Balai Raya needs to state the number of types of equipment and the required area, while the size or distance of the road to be upgraded (repaired) must be stated in order to determine whether the required financial allocation is sufficient.

Also speaking were Community Development Leader (PPM) Paginatan, Mohd. Hisyamuddin bin Harun, who represented the Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, who is also Paginatan Assemblyman, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, Organising Chairman, Yamun Lantoi and Kg. Kokob Village Leader, Alexander Makijol.

Among the highlights of the event included Traditional Cooking Competition, Sugandoi Dazanak Performance, Mr. Kudingking and Mrs. Kinomoluk event. It was attended by hundreds of residents of Kg. Kokob and surrounding villages. Also present were CDO Paginatan, Japili Sigal and Paginatan Mukim Developer, Lasius Galipoi.
