Nearly 7,000 acres of NT land given out throughout Sabah so far

MATUNGGONG: The State Government has issued 1,330 Native Title (NT) grants involving nearly 7,000 acres of land throughout Sabah since May 12 this year.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the land titles were given to applicants in Pitas (206), Telupid (181), Tongod (611), Bandau (51) and the 281 here today.

The Chief Minister presented the titles comprising 1,546.68 acres of land in a ceremony at Dewan Terbuka Matunggong.

“More applications will be approved once processing is completed,” he said.

Hajiji also assured that the application by Matunggong Assemblywoman Datuk Julita Majungki among them to elevate Matunggong into a full-fledge district, road repairs and a new Community Hall are being considered.

Also present were caretaker Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Maximus Ongkili, Science, Technology and Innovation Assistant Minister Datuk Ruddy Awah and Land and Survey Deputy Director Wahab Kanak.
