KOTA KINABALU: Sugut Assemblyman, Datuk James Ratib is confident that the majority of Sabah Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders still give strong support to the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Hj Noor.

He said that during a meeting with Sabah Umno representatives recently, he clearly can see the direction of support from party leaders who have full trust in Hajiji as the Chief Minister.

“I personally believe that he is capable of bringing progress to the State and the people of Sabah. In the meeting, I also heard the same stance from them,” he said.

James said, in the face of the 15th General Election, he is confident that the agreement between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Barisan Nasional (BN) will be able to win the votes of the people on the basis of political stability.

He said the political scenario in Sabah is quite unique compared to other states because although sometimes there is a slight difference of opinion, it can still be resolved through negotiations instead of taking reckless actions as some parties do.

“We have to create political stability for the future of the State and the people of Sabah. It is enough to warm the atmosphere with the turmoil of political crises which eventually become the hatred of Sabahans,” he said.

In addition, he also advised voters not to be influenced by cyber troopers who often twist an issue and gives a negative image of the parties in GRS and BN.

He said the matter was intended to cloud the real situation because despite the accusations thrown at them, in reality, the leadership of GRS and BN is still strong despite facing the GE15.

James, who is also the Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, is committed to support any GRS and BN leaders contesting in the upcoming election.
