KOTA KINABALU: State Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) State Government is stable and focused on bringing development to Sabah.

“Our State Government is stable. There is no issue of us faltering or anything as alleged by certain quarters.

“All of the State Government’s leadership is focused on efforts to develop Sabah, for Sabahans.

“We have just concluded the 15th General Election (GE15) and the State Election (PRN) is still long, due around 2025.

“So the priority now is to develop Sabah and help the people and our State,” he said during the Kami Prihatin dan Sayang Anak Yatim Santai programme, here. The Putatan MP insisted that all parties should work together to develop Sabah and stop all forms of provocation or raise issues that do not benefit the state.

“Enough of playing politics, let’s play less of it now.

“We have to focus on work, work as a leader elected by our people, to develop Sabah and help the people of Sabah,” he reiterated.

During the programme, Shahelmey advised the orphans to focus on efforts to pursue their ambitions and prioritise studies.

“For us to succeed in achieving our goals in the future, we must work hard and study hard. Youths are the hope of the school, state and country.

“Their task is to focus on their studies and get excellent results in the exams, until they succeed in university,” he said.

Shahelmey added that his ministry will always strive to bring more assistance in an effort to help all target groups that need help, including orphans and the elderly.

“Every year, we try to see and add all the necessary aspects, especially for the purpose of welfare assistance, because it is certain that every year, the data will change and there are many that we need to help,” he said.
