PETALING JAYA: Malaysians are being told there is no better time than now to explore the country’s various attractions.

Tourism Malaysia is banking on local demand to revive the sector, which was acutely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, via its “Now is the Time, Cuti-Cuti Malaysia” campaign which takes off next year.

The campaign encourages Malaysians to travel within the country to experience the various unique attractions and destinations that have long attracted foreign tourists in droves.

The iconic Dabong Railway Station gives passengers a chance to pass through tropical forests, earning the nickname ‘The Jungle Train’.

In a statement, Tourism Malaysia said the campaign would also help support local entrepreneurs and spur the local economy.

The campaign highlights various themed activities such as family fun, eco-nature/adventure, food, shopping, island and beaches, and culture and heritage.

Tourism Malaysia said the campaign was a continuation of previous efforts to attract tourists by targeting families and millennials.

The campaign’s theme song, already being played on various local channels and programmes, is sung by singer-songwriter Nik Qistina.
