‘Give unity a chance’ call to all leaders

Chua reminded that political disunity and continuous fighting will only disrupt Sabah’s growth.

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanahairku (Sabah Star) appealed to all leaders to give unity a chance to work, and refrain from endless politicking.

Its Vice President Kenny Chua said Sabah Star stands with the people who want to see a more unified government that is focused on developing the State.

“So, let us put an end to endless and needless politicking. Let’s stand shoulder to shoulder and give unity a chance,” he said in a statement.

Chua reminded that political disunity and continuous fighting will only disrupt Sabah’s growth.

“The GRS leadership has big plans to develop the State and improve the living standard of the people. No one wants politicking to disrupt all these,” he said.

He assured that Sabah Star and the GRS remain committed to this vision and mission and are hoping other parties would join force regardless of their political ideologies.
To achieve this, he said, strong unity in needed.

He also highlighted that Sabah is now in a position of strength with regard to its demands for rights as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“So far, we’ve attained some levels of success in this pursuit. If we’re disunited, we won’t be in a position of strength anymore. Let’s not blow it,” he said.

He also reminded that Sabahans want to see a government that is seen to be working in helping to change their fortunes, not politicians who fight to empower only themselves and their supporters.
